See Through

I feel
the pane
beneath my
finger tips
They glide
like they're
moving
on soft velvet
But there's
no rhythm
no beat
I sense
that it's
my insides
lying dormant
and wishing
for the sun
If you hold
the pane
to the light
I wonder
if you can see
right through me

  1. Haha! I hope we can all see through our own protective panes, but not let everyone!

  2. Oh do I love those closing lines. What a cool response to the prompt. I had a hard time thinking of anything but this is perfect - love the fingers moving as if on velvet.

  4. I like this a lot, Torie. Very intense...and I like the double meanings that come to my mind as I read the last six lines. Very cleverly written - really.

  5. Powerful and beautiful, the wonder captured in your words the sense of not quite being able to feel what you need.
