The puzzle
rips open
and the pieces
fall out
The understanding
that was there
has now
turned to
doubt
Things used
to fit
so neatly
inside
of this
space
There's no easy
solution
that is found
in this
place
Dreamers
are accused
of dreaming
too much
There's too many
screens blinking
causing us
to lose
touch
Go back
a few steps
Is there
any light
in sight
Or have all
the walls
been washed down
with so much
terror
that we forget
we can
fight
-February 2015
as long as the puzzle is in the box
ReplyDeleteit is harmless and we need not worry on trying
to figure it out...
unleashed...
we must find how they fit
or become comfortable
with them
not
I agree! Thanks, Brian :)
DeleteI love the rhyme and meter of this piece - and the closing statement is a very powerful response to the question in the poem.
ReplyDeletei think it's in us to always try and solve the puzzle - trying to make sense and looking for the connection of the pieces.. sometimes we manage - some pieces never fit and it takes quite a bit to digest the empty spaces
ReplyDeleteSuch a thoughtful comment :) Thank you, Claudia!
DeleteVery interesting and wonderful style.

Thank you, ZQ :)
DeleteSo often things don't fit very neatly into a space.....as time goes on we realize we need a more complex solution! I like the form of this poem, Torie.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Mary!!
DeleteI liked this--so often we take things out of a box and when we try to put them back in again, they don't quite fit. That is where I went in reading this--well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment, Audrey! And for your visit :)
DeleteI find myself wondering the same thing.. sometimes with a puzzle you need to get a little distance, but you also have to go in very close.. I wonder if we just are too afraid to try...
ReplyDeleteI like your thoughts on this, Bjorn. Thank you!!
DeleteI like the style of this poem...and it does feel like none of the pieces fit anymore...
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming by, Donna :)
Deletei loved the way you ended this one..may be we are afraid of fighting..to face the reality,,very nice Torie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Arathi :)
DeleteWhat a thoughtful poem...i hope we can always fight..
ReplyDeleteI do, too. Thank you for your visit, Jae Rose :)
DeleteI love the spirit of this poem, realization that puzzle fall apart possibly will not fit back mostly as pieces evolving by itselves and able to be the self puzzles...what a paradigm...
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment, humbird :)
DeletePay attention to the picture beyond the puzzle
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Rene :) Thank your for making a visit!
