Look up

at the sky

Tell me what

do you see

I know there's 

a little bit

of you

and a 

little bit

of me

Because we all

go together

like droplets

in the sea

What is

a part of you

can be seen

inside of me

I love the world

in laughter

in rapture

and in joy

I'll always 

feel the

misfortune

when you break

your favorite toy

And when

our souls

feel like

shadows

living beneath

the dust

We must try

a little harder

to shine

so our souls

may never rust

in burlap strings

sing

and lick away

your wounds

I'll cover

in wildflowers

make
love

Ramblings

Why do you

light the flame

and watch it burn

so intently

I watch

as tiny flickers

bounce off

and try to catch

him or me

Which ever one

is more fluid

For a minute

I thought I heard

a language

that was lost once

But I see

it's just ramblings

from a woman

I used to know

Her words

twisted up

in a funnel

of red and yellow

Twisting

and bending

until they all fall

loosely

on the ground

I kneel

and touch the ones

that were left

uncharred

Perhaps they weren't

ramblings

after all

Ghost Number

Oh, you

enter my thoughts

sometimes

I wonder

what you're doing

now

Did you

get out of bed

and greet 

the sun

Don't you know

that you're 

the only one

I think of

this way

It's hard

not to call you

today

But I'd only be

dialing

a ghost number

that just

rings

and 

rings

without an answer

Where do you

fade away to

when the 

telephone beckons

for your words

your breathe

You've become

transparent

An illusion

But I know

you're real

I hugged you

once

and looked

into the eyes

that are the same

as mine

Don't leave me

haunted

with an endless

empty ring

Move me                

 if you can

              Do what                               

        you will            

               Push me                                

                out to sea                

and I'll float           

  Just watch

me go                     

     and I'll grow

with you                

 or against

the currents         

           that try to bind

  this soul                 

 You can  

  follow me               

           while I dance 

along the waves   

    and lick  

   the moon dry           

           beneath this

starry sky

I feel

the pane

beneath my

finger tips

They glide

like they're

moving

on soft velvet

But there's

no rhythm

no beat

I sense 

that it's

my insides

lying dormant

and wishing 

for the sun

If you hold

the pane

to the light

I wonder

if you can see

right through me

A Facet of Urban Life

I love the dripping rain

making music in my ears

I wish it would fill me up

and wash away my fears

I'd love to forget the mugging

that happened just yards

from my front door

I wish someone could tell me

that it won't happen anymore

But I know that isn't true

when living in this city scape

and all that's in my power

is to keep myself

from filling up with hate
