Flawed Seamstress

Her patchwork
appears to be
a little shoddy
after further examination
These stitches
were not
sewn tightly
She sees separations
here and there
She was a fool
to think
it would keep her
warm enough
at night

  1. the need to be warm...i hope that it is no due to circumstances...
it has been cold here in the mornings...i guess with some things
    being tightly stitched is good...smiles.

    1. I wish it were cold where I am in the mornings. It's been in the warm 80's, then up to 106 in the afternoons! Thanks for your visit, Brian!

  2. Works on many levels, Torie. The physical fact of the coat; the small fractures that make love start to "leak out"; and, finally, the guilt many women feel ("she was a fool") about love leaving, as though she was responsible for the loose stitches. I have been "undone" by that guilt often! Challenging and worth reading twice. Thanks, Torie, for stopping by my blog and commenting as well. Peace, Amy

  4. well, there could be many meanings in this poem, but i am thinking about a relationship.it looks good at first but on further examination (perhaps after a period of time) cracks start to appear. sorry, my weird sense of thinking. :)
