The Hope We Seek

Where is our Lennon
Our Kennedy
Our King
Is there anyone out there
with hope
they can bring
We sacrifice happiness
Our joys
Our bliss
Why are we taught
there are more important things
than this
Is our beacon
somehow lost at sea
Or is the hope
that we seek
Inside of you
Inside of me

  3. I think that we each have to keep hope alive inside of ourselves. And we have to search out those heroes of today who are our beacons. A thoughtful write.

  5. Torie, you have written for Poets United several weeks now. Really to make some friends here you have to make the rounds and comment on other people's poems so they get to know you. Comments are a two way street. Both Eileen and I commented on your poem last week. And I know I have commented on earlier poems that you have written. (And never have you commented in my blog.) I have not seen comments on any one else's blog. Please make some rounds. You will find it more interesting if you see what others write, and people will get to know you better as well. Hope to see your comments on some other people's poems...it is a very rewarding experience.

    1. Mary, I have commented on plenty of people's blogs. I know that I haven't commented on every person's blog that has commented on mine, but I read and comment on different poems from the folks that post on Poetry Pantry that haven't necessarily commented on my own blog. I do realize that commenting is a two way street, and if there's some rules that I'm not aware of, I'm all ears :) I think Poets United is filled with a lot of talented poets and it's been a treat to find it.

  8. Revolution comes from within not from without. For a movement to start, someone must make that first movement.
