Miss Lonelyhearts

I invited
Miss Lonelyhearts
for a high noon
cup of tea
She said
"I can feel
your heart
It's just the same
as me"
I looked
into her eyes
In search
of something
I could deny
But all I found
was fear
I asked her
what was
happening here
I've seen this
all before
I didn't need her
to tell me
anymore
So I put
some music on
And we danced
around
the room
When it was time
to say good-bye
I told her
I hoped not to
see her again
too soon

  2. This one seems be like dancing with your own mirror-image.. The last line is a killer... Facing loneliness like that is difficult...

  4. Ah, I agree with the idea of not having too much to do with Miss Lonely Hearts. What she has may be 'catching,' and best to avoid getting 'caught.' Once dance with her is enough for a lifetime.

  6. Torie, I can always picture the people in your poems, perfectly cast by their creator, to entertain our brain with their whimsical behaviour!

    LOVED this, and can relate!

  9. No. You don't want to dance with her at all. Though she did inspire a charming poem. Loved it.
